For most people who don’t know me, I’m going to give you some background information on me. My life has been nothing but trials and overcoming mistakes while creating new ones along the way. Yeah you may say well that’s everyone, and I agree that is everyone. Everyone has their own story their own trials, mistakes and journey, but how many people truly try to overcome their past? Yeah people say they moved on from the past, but what truly is moving on from the past? To me moving on is you don’t forget what you did and went through, but yet you use that a fuel and motivation to chase your dreams. Forgetting what you went through to get to where you are now is like forgetting who you are as a person. Your brain will forget things by itself at a young age, but that’s from the inexperience to be able to understand and comprehend it. At a young age it’s more learning your surroundings, learning what life is like for a child. As you grow and mature more not only physically but mentally, you start to be able to endure things. You are able to truly test yourself mentally. Granted everyone can test themselves physically. You can’t possibly go a day without. Yeah you can try to come up with examples to argue that you, but I will be able to answer and argue your examples right away. When you start to mature and grow mentally is the real test. Moving on from things in the past is one of the hardest ways to test yourself mentally. Moving on is owning what you did. It’s easier said than done, but using positive self-talk is the start. If you can start to get in the habit of when things get hard or tough for you that you set goals and start telling yourself that you can accomplish them, is where you start to learn what you can truly endure. Looking back on all the things you have down going through your life no matter your age and being able to realize the mistakes you made is the starting point to moving on. No one is perfect in anyway. Everyone has made mistakes somewhere down their journey. Recognizing them is where the mentally mature standout. Every day I think about how if I wouldn’t have made that one mistake that was the result of me sending myself to placement, where would I be? Taking ownership for those mistakes is when you realize that, no matter how much you messed up in the past, without doing that you wouldn’t be where you are today. The world around us moves to fast for you to dwell on things, dwelling is going to put you too far behind and resulting you to be left out. There’s a difference between dwelling and thinking. Dwelling is prolonged thought on your mistakes and thinking you’ve messed up too much. Thinking is being able think even if it’s for long periods of time, but you know that you aren’t too far gone, yet that you are right where you should be in life. It doesn’t take hours to think about what you have done, it could be the matter of minutes too. Thinking is what keeps everyone rooted to something. It could be an object or person or memory, but it will keep you from thinking you are too perfect for what happens around you.
